Xiaomi launches Redmi AirDots with a much affordable price tag


Xiaomi is on trending nowadays, due to its innovative, cost-effective and quality products. Xiaomi started this year by introducing Redmi as an independent brand and the launch of Redmi Note 7 Smartphones. Xiaomi, at an event in China Redmi, announced the affordable Redmi AirDots earbuds and a Redmi 1A washing machine.

Xiaomi had launched the Mi AirDots, in November 2018 for around 1000 Rupees. And now they announced the Redmi AirDots Wireless Earbuds. The Redmi AirDots is truly wireless, it has Bluetooth 5.0 support, equipped with a Realtek RTL8763BFR chip and a 7.2mm driver. The Realtek RTL8763BFR chip that helps the device to connect to smartphones as soon as they are removed from the case. The Redmi AirDots was introduced with a price tag of RMB 9, which roughly converts to INR 1000.



The Redmi AirDots is lightweight. It only weighs 35.4 grams and that makes it comfortable to wear for long hours. It has a touch-sensitive button, which can be used to control music playback as well as voice assistants like Siri and Google Assistant. These AirDots have a 40mAh battery, which can offer 4 hours of battery life on a single charge(as claimed by Xiaomi). The charging case of the earbuds also has a 300mAh battery which can recharge the AirDots to offer upto12 hours of playback. It takes around 1.5 hours to charge the earbuds while the case needs around 2 hours.

The earbuds measure 26.65×16.4×21.6mm while the case measures 62×40×27.2mm.


Redmi AirDots will be available only in black color and will go on sale in China on April 9. Since Xiaomi hasn’t launched such products in India, we can hope to see it in India soon. Also, AirDots being a new product with its associated advantages and disadvantages it will be interesting to see how Xiaomi owns the market with this product.
