Broadcom CEO says iPhone 12 launch has been delayed

During an earning call, Hock Tan, the CEO of Broadcom shared his expectations for the iPhone 12 launch without mentioning the name of Apple. Broadcom is one of the Apple’s major hardware supplier for iPhone. He said iPhone 12 launch is likely to see a delay from the traditional September launch.

To be exact, he is expecting iPhone 12 to launch in Q4 of 2020 and he also said that he is expecting lower revenue for Q3 due to this delay.

“This year, we do not expect to see this uptick in revenue until our fourth fiscal quarter,” the CEO added. “So accordingly, we expect, our wireless revenue in Q3 will be down sequentially.”

What to expect from iPhone 12 Series

iPhone 12 is rumoured to have smaller notch and slimmer bezels. There will be four iPhone models this year – 5.4 inch iPhone 12, 6.1 inch iPhone 12 Max, 6.1 inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7 inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, all of them will have the newest A14 chipset and faster GPU. This time all four iPhone models will have OLED and 5G, 120Hz support is unclear and is likely to come in iPhone 13. Coming to camera department then there will be no major changes in this year iPhones, additionally there will be a LiDAR sensor in the Pro models like the 2020 iPad Pro.
