HTC has launched two new smartphones in Taiwan after a long time. HTC’s first 5G phone HTC U20 5G along with HTC Desire 20 Pro.
The Taiwanese company has introduced its first 5G smartphone called the HTC U20 5G, along with the HTC Desire 20 Pro that is only a 4G smartphone. The two smartphones have been introduced to the company’s home market for now, but there are no details on their pricing and availability.
HTC Desire 20 Pro and U20 5G come almost two years after HTC’s last flagship smartphone was launched.
HTC U20 5G
HTC U20 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor enabling support for 5G paired with an 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded further via microSD card. It has a 6.8-inch FHD+ (1080×2400 pixels) LCD display with a punch-hole on the left and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
HTC U20 5G comes with four cameras at the back i.e. a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and two 2-megapixel sensors for macro and portrait photography. The second one is an ultrawide sensor with a field of view of 118 degrees. It has a 32-megapixel camera on the front residing inside the punch-hole for selfies. It supports 4K video recording on the rear cameras, over and above other standard camera features. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 that allows for 18W fast charging. There is a Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and 5G supports. It supports both SA and NSA 5G networks.
The HTC U20 is priced at NT$18,990 and will go on pre-order from July 1.
HTC Desire 20 Pro
The HTC Desire 20 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with microSD card support. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
HTC HTC Desire 20 Pro comes with four cameras at the back i.e. a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and two 2-megapixel sensors for macro and portrait photography. It has a 25-megapixel in-display selfie camera. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery on the Desire 20 Pro, as well, with 18W fast charging. There is also a Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and no 5G supports.
The HTC U20 is priced at NT$8,990 and will go on pre-order from July 18.
